TRANSIT/ STORAGE INSURANCE OPTIONS
Please Read Carefully

It is our intention to assist you in selecting the insurance protection best suited to your needs. When preparing to move, it is important to consider the following alternatives:

1. Unless a greater value is declared by the owner/ shipper or authorized agent, the goods are released to the moving and/or storage company at a valuation of sixty cents ($.60) per pound per article. For example, a 50 pound flat screen television valued at $1,000.00 is covered to a maximum of only $30.00.
2. Your present home owners or tenant rental insurance policy may extend coverage to your goods while in transit and/or storage. CHECK WITH YOUR INSURANCE AGENT for more information.
3. Full replacement value transit insurance may be purchased through Gibraltar's insurance carrier at a cost of or $10.00 for replacement for each $1,000.00 of coverage replacement purchased. This insurance has a deductible of $250.00 per move. The total insurance value purchased must equal 100% of the replacement cost of all household goods or the co-insurance penalty clause will apply.
   

Transit insurance will not insure packed-by-owner (PBO) items. For example: lamps, pictures, bric-a-brac, and cartons packed by the shipper (you) are not insured under the third party cargo insurance policy. The only way these packed-by-owner non-insurable items can be insured would be for Gibraltar Van Lines to pack these items. You may wish to consider high value items being packed by Gibraltar personnel. A certificate of insurance (advice of coverage) will be issued for the amount of your purchase at the commencement of your move.
